Red Dead Online
Red Dead Online is the online component of the popular 2019 action adventure game Red Dead Redemption 2. It also adds a variety of additional features that are designed to improve player experience. This includes things like group missions, many new characters, a completely new set of legendary animals, and ability cards.
The multiplayer version lets you explore the same exciting Wild West as in Red Dead Redemption 2, but with the added support or danger from other players. Activities like hunting and fishing are more exciting with the risk of griefers and robbers waiting to steal your catch on the road.
Wilderness camps are much more important in Red Dead Online due to the amount of traveling that you will be doing. Red Dead Online is set in 1898, about a year before the events of Red Dead Redemption 2. You will play as a silent protagonist who is broken out of prison by a group of criminals.
As it turns out, you were framed for the murder of the husband of Jessica LeClerk. She is behind breaking you out and asks you to seek justice for her. You must prove your innocence and take revenge for Jessica. There are also career paths called specialist roles that were added with the Frontier Pursuits update. You can be a Bounty Hunter, Naturalist, Moonshiner, Collector, and Trader.
Where to Find Violet Snowdrops
The Ambarino region is the best place to find violet snowdrops in Red Dead Online. Its locations are often quite remote, so you will need to know exactly where to look. Violet snowdrops have dark green stems with bright violet bell-shaped flowers, which are unmistakable in the greens of the forest.
Violet snowdrops are also used to craft Special Bitters or Potent Herbivore Bait for hunters. You can also sell them for some quick money, but it is definitely not worth the effort it takes to find them.
Here are the best locations to find violet snowdrops for your Daily Challenges.
Around Fort Wallace
Fort Wallace is one of the most popular locations on this list, so Red Dead Redemption 2 players will have no trouble finding it. This military fort is in the northern end of Cumberland Forest in the New Hanover region. If you are coming from the Dakota River, look for this fort southwest of Bacchus Station.
There are several locations around Fort Wallace where violet snowdrops usually spawn in. You will recognize these flowers because they are bright violet in color and typically grow in bunches. Once you find a bunch of violet snowdrops, you will not have to look too far for the next one.
Just keep walking around the area and collecting as many violet snowdrops as you can find. If you are struggling to find them, keep checking your map for the Flower/Herb icon.
Doverhill Observatory Area
Located north of Brandywine Drop, there are a few bunches of violet snowdrops near the Doverhill Observatory. Head over to Brandywine Drop and go north until you are somewhere east of Doverhill Observatory. There is a remote location where violet snowdrops grow frequently.
If you are not familiar with Doverhill Observatory or Brandywine Drop, just head on up north from Annesburg.
These spots are scattered around the area so keep looking after you find the first set. If you do not find enough flowers, just leave the area and come back after a couple of in-game days. They should already have respawned by that time.
O’Creagh’s Run is known more as a fishing spot than for foraging flowers, but you should check it out as well. Located east of Fort Wallace, O’Creagh’s Run is a big lake where the Legendary Emerald Wolf and Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear can be found in Red Dead Online.
Fishing folk will know it as a good spot for catching sockeye salmon, rock bass, blue gill, and chain pickerel. On the eastern shore is Veteran’s Homestead with the cabin where Hamish Sinclair lives.
Look for violet snowdrops to the east of O’Creagh’s Run. As usual, there are several bunches of these rare flowers scattered around the area. Pick up as many as you can and return in a few days after they respawn.
What Violet Snowdrops Are Used For
There are several uses for violet snowdrops in Red Dead Online. First and most popular is needing them to complete Daily Challenges and earn some Gold. Second is for crafting things like Special Bitters and Potent Herbivore Bait. If you are a hunter or trader, this can be a good investment. If you are out of tonics or food, you can even opt to immediately eat violet snowdrops to replenish some of your stamina core.
Lastly, and perhaps most inefficiently, is selling violet snowdrops for cash. They do not sell for much, so they are not the best investment seeing as they require quite a lot of effort and traveling to obtain.
Remember that violet snowdrops respawn in roughly the same locations every time. If you are patient enough, you should be able to farm these locations every few days or so.
