Let’s get started!

Stakes of Marika Basics

Stakes of Marika works as an additional checkpoint system to the primary Sites of Grace found around The Lands Between. However, unlike the Sites of Grace, Stakes of Marika do not offer options present in primary checkpoints.

So, how does it work?

A Skate of Marika simply offers you a respawn point closer to where you die, allowing you to get right back into the boss fight.

Imagine having to travel to the boss’ location every time you die.

This system also allows you to potentially salvage your Runes without having to make an impossible journey to them from a Site of Grace. Additionally, some Stakes of Marika are just right before the fog wall containing the boss.

This makes it more convenient for you to re-attempt the entire boss fight.

What Can You Do At A Stake of Marika?

Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do on a Stake of Marika besides respawning. Compared to Sties of Grace, they are only checkpoints. This means that you can’t level up, equip magic items or bind Ashes of War.

As we’ve mentioned, the main benefit of a Stake of Marika is that it allows you to respawn close to the boss’ location if you die.

Can You Fast Travel to A Stake of Marika?

Although Stakes of Marika are checkpoints, they aren’t permanent ones and can only be selected as respawn points. Besides, whenever you come across a new Stakes of Marika, the previous one deactivates.

This means that you can’t use Stakes of Marika to fast travel.

Where to Find Stakes of Marika?

Stakes of Marika are usually found inside mini-dungeons and Legacy Dungeons. You’ll mainly find them right next to a boss room. In some places, the Stake of Marika will be slightly away from the boss’ location, requiring you to travel for a short distance to get back to the fight.

You can also find Stakes of Marika out in the open world of The Lands Between. This should save you from backtracking several minutes of travel if you are exploring the domain.
