Can’t figure out how you can solve Chelona’s Rise puzzle?
Tucked away within Chelona’s Rise, Ranni’s Dark Moon is a Full Moon Sorcery in Elden Ring that allows its user to launch a small homing moon at enemies.Â
This projectile will start moving slowly but pick up speed the further it travels and bursts upon impact. The explosion deals a significant buildup of Frostbite and temporarily reduces the target’s magic negation by 10%.
While this type of spell is unsuitable for normal and elite enemies in Elden Ring, it is undoubtedly effective against bosses within large arenas.
As mentioned, players can find this spell inside Chelona’s Rise, a tower sealed with a magical barrier. To dispel its seal, players need to solve a puzzle that is similar to Liurnia’s Tetsu’s Rise and Limgrave’s Oridys’ Rise.
Chelona’s Rise challenges players to search the entire plateau for the ghost, as only one sits within the vicinity.
Today, we will show you how you can solve Chelona’s Rise puzzle in Elden Ring.
Let’s get right into it!
Chelona’s Rise Location
Before starting, it is important to mention that Chelona’s Rise is located within an area in Liurnia that only becomes available once you have made significant progress in Ranni’s questline in Elden Ring.

To reach the tower’s plateau, players must defeat Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, in the Grand Cloister and ascend the lift at the Deep Well of the Ainsel River.
From here, the Tarnished’s next destination in the questline will be the Cathedral of Manus Sellus. However, if players head to the southwestern point of the zone, they will find Chelona’s Rise, where Ranni’s Dark Moon is located.Â
Solving the Puzzle and Getting Ranni’s Dark Moon
The first turtle ghost that you’ll need in Chelona’s Rise can be found hanging on the cliffside west of the tower. Players can use a ranged attack or a melee skill with AoE to dispel the turtle ghost.
Now, players must head to the far east section of the plateau, following the cliff edge.
The second ghost turtle in Chelona’s Rise will be sitting on the stones near the border at the very end. Players with ranged attacks can go up the hillside slightly north of the location and snipe it from the rocks.
For the final turtle, it will surely boggle the minds of many players. This last turtle in the game can be found near the northwestern corner of the map, close to the Ringleader’s Evergaol.
The turtle ghost will be flying around in the air, making it an easy target to hit if you have ranged attacks. However, if you have a melee-based character, you’ll have to ride the Spiritspring Jump nearby to leap into the air and attack it.
Once you’ve dispelled all the turtle spirits in Chelona’s Rise, you’ll now be able to enter the tower and get Ranni’s Dark Moon.
