Elden Ring is the latest game offered by FromSoftware. This new title features a vast open world with dozens of bosses, secret areas to explore, and puzzles to solve. 

Redmane Castle is an area found in south Caelid. It is one of the few places in Elden Ring that doesn’t appear as intimidating from afar as it does up close. From a distance, Redmane Castle may appear to be just another fort. 

However, as soon as you reach the Impassable Greatbridge, you’ll begin to realize how dangerous this place is. 

Unfortunately, the Impassable Greatbridge isn’t the only thing standing between you and getting into General Radahn’s namesake castle. After the catapults, players have to get through a veritable army, including a flaming ballista.

Redmane Castle Overview

Redmane Castle is located about mid-way through Caelid and can be seen from several vantage points throughout the zone. It plays an important role in the history of Caelid and the eight of General Radahn’s power. 

General Radahn is a very powerful warrior and so respected that the Radahn Festival is dedicated to giving the demigod a proper death. 

Long ago, General Rdahn and Malenia, Blade of Miquella, fought to a standstill. To sum up its lore, Malenia nuked Caelid with Scarlet Rot as a final resort and fled, while Radahn and his armies were plagued with ultra-biohazard. 

Over time, General Radahn slowly lost his mind and reached a point where all he could do was howl at the stars above. 

Getting Into Redmane Castle

From the start of the Impassable Greatbridge, you must hold the sprint button while riding torrent as much as you can. There will be two catapults that will constantly launch massive flaming boulders at you while you cross the bridge. 

Try dodging left and right to draw their fire away from your path, and keep your view focused on them to anticipate where the fireballs will land. 

Once you are across the bridge, run left up the hill and stay behind one of the roadblocks to avoid getting hit by the flaming ballista. 

Now, jump over the small army on this hill and run towards the gates. Make a sharp right at the gate to avoid getting smashed by the Troll. Jump onto the top floor of the wooden tower over the cliffside. 

After that, look behind, and you’ll see another ledge to drop down onto. Continue on this path, defeating bats along the way, and dismount Torrent at the graveyard found over a gap. Crouch to avoid being seen by the Harpies and stay close to the stairwell to reach a ladder that leads to the top of the castle. 

Be ready to face two lions in the courtyard and a duo boss. Once defeated, you’ll find yourself inside the Redmane Castle.
