Do you want to know how you can play Pantheon in League of Legends?
Pantheon is a melee AD-Caster who deals serious damage with his spells for a very short period. He’s able to immobilize and kill enemies single-handedly using his abilities, making him one of the best anti-carries in League of Legends.Â
He was released way back in February 2010 and continues to be one of the best champions to play to this date. Pantheon is a fighter-assassin that can be played as a support, top laner, or even the middle position.
If you’re looking for a versatile champion to play, consider learning Pantheon.
Besides having a unique playstyle, Pantheon is an easy champion to learn without too much mechanics.
Today, we’ll show you how to play Pantheon in League of Legends.
Let’s get started!
Abilities
Pantheon’s main goal is to kill the enemy team’s carry no matter the cost. However, this doesn’t mean you have to die blindly on team fights and feed. If played right, you can counter almost any carry with Pantheon and give your team the best chance to win.Â
Mortal Will (Passive)
INNATE – Pantheon gains a stack of Mortal Will when he lands a basic attack on-hit or casts an ability. This can stack up to five times. Pantheon’s next basic ability consumes the Mortal Will stack and grants bonus effects when the maximum stack is reached.Â

Pantheon also gains maximum stacks of Mortal Will at the start of the game upon completing a Recall and respawning.Â
Comet Spear (Q)
ACTIVE – Pantheon charges while being slowed by 10% for up to four seconds but increases Comet Spear’s range after 0.35 seconds of channeling.
Comet Spear can be recast at any point within its duration.

RECAST – Pantheon hurls his spear in a line in the target direction, inflicting physical damage to all opponents hit. Critical strike chance is increased against enemies below 20% HP but reduced by 50% against enemies beyond 20% HP.
On the other hand, the total damage to minions and monsters is reduced by 30% as well.Â
Releasing the ability within 0.35 seconds causes Pantheon to thrust his spear in the target’s direction, dealing the same physical damage to enemies hit and refunding 60% of Comet Spear’s cooldown.
MORTAL WILL – Deals a bonus of 20 to 240 (+115% AD) bonus physical damage to enemies affected by the previous damage reductions. This consumes the stacks upon recasting the ability.Â
Shield Vault (W)
ACTIVE – Pantheon dashes forward to the target’s location, deals physical damage, and stuns them 1 second.Â

MORTAL WILL – Pantheon’s next basic attack within 4 seconds has a cast time and strikes the target three times over a short period, dealing 40% to 55% AD physical damage per hit. Every hit is affected by critical strike modifiers and applies on-hit effects with 100% effectiveness.
Aegis Assault (E)
ACTIVE – Pantheon braces his shield in the target direction, channeling for 1.5 seconds while slowed for 0% to 25%. Aegis Assault can’t be interrupted by crowd control abilities. It can be recast after 0.3 seconds during the channel and does so automatically once the period ends.Â
For the duration, Pantheon is invulnerable against non-turret damage dealt by enemies from the target direction and continuously swings his spear in a cone in front of him. This deals 8.3% physical damage every 0.125 seconds to enemies within the area.

RECAST – Pantheon slams his shield in a cone area in front of him, dealing physical damage to opponents inside the cone.
MORTAL WILL – Pantheon gains 60% bonus movement speed for 1.5 seconds after recasting.Â
Grand Starfall (R)
ACTIVE – Pantheon channels for 2 seconds, then jumps into the air, vanishing and becoming immune to crowd control abilities until he reappears. While in the air, Pantheon channels again for 2.45 seconds and grants sight around the target area for 0.5 seconds into the channel.

After 1.125 seconds into the channel, Pantheon prepares for a landing by marking the area with his spear. The spear deals 40 to 190 (+115% bonus AD) physical damage to enemies near the landing point and slows them by 50% for 2 seconds.
In the remaining 1.1625 seconds, Pantheon crashes down and creates a shockwave that travels toward the target location, inflicting magic damage to enemies within its path.Â
This is decreased by up to 50% for those at the edge of the AoE. Upon completion of the channel, Pantheon reappears at the area and gains full stacks of Mortal Will. Grand Starfall is put on a 30-second cooldown if the first channel is canceled.
Pantheon Gameplay
Pantheon is a fighter in nature. He’s very strong in the early game and can trade and fight against most top lane champions. As the game continues, Pantheon may fall off in terms of damage and becomes more of crowd control that helps his team survive clashes.Â
When playing Pantheon, it’s vital to keep an eye on your Mortal Will and its stacks. After five stacks, your next basic ability will be vamped with bonus damage.Â
For some players, Pantheon is used in the jungle. He has excellent tools for ganking like Shield Vault to stun enemies or his Ultimate, Grand Starfall to set up team fights.

In the early stages of the game, you’ll want to be aggressive with Pantheon. He’s one of the best 1v1 champions against any other top laners. However, don’t forget to auto-attack minions to stack your Mortal Will.Â
Once you get full stacks, use your Shield Vault (W) to initiate and get three basic attacks to land. Now, engage your Comet Spear (Q) for additional damage.Â
This should be your basic ability sequence during the early game.
During the late stages of the game, you’ll have to transition to a role player since Pantheon doesn’t deal the most damage. The best thing to do at this point is group up with your team and use your ult to set up clashes.
In team fights, your main goal is to get on top of the enemy backline. You can use your Shield Vault to hold down one of the carries so your team can follow up and take them down.Â
