Want to learn how to play Ahri in League of Legends?
Ahri is one of the most fun champions to play in League of Legends. She’s a favorite in the mid-lane for a handful of reasons. She has excellent mobility, crowd control, and burst damage, which is pretty much what you’ll need in the mid-lane.Â
Due to this, Ahri is a matchup nightmare for any champion in the game.
However, you’ll have to familiarize yourself with her kit to utilize them properly and maximize her potential.
She’s an AP assassin mage that uses her abilities to clear waves, burst enemies, and provide crowd control during fights. She excels in dealing with single target damage using her Charm ability to initiate the sequence.Â
If you’re looking to dominate the mid-lane, you should learn how to play Ahri. Fortunately, we’re here to help.Â
Today, we’ll show you how to play Ahri in League of Legends.
Let’s begin!
Abilities
Ahri’s kit involves crowd control and burst damage with the potential to eliminate enemies in one go. First, she needs to land her Charm (E) to immobilize enemy champions and burst them down using her remaining abilities.Â
Essence Theft (Passive)

INNATE – Ahri gains an Essence Fragment whenever she kills a minion or monster. After obtaining nine fragments, she consumes them to heal herself for 40 to 120 (+25% AP) health.Â
Whenever Ahri scores a takedown against an enemy champion within 3 seconds after damaging them, she consumes their essence and heals herself for 80 to 200 (depending on level) (+35% AP) health.
Orb of Deception (Q)

ACTIVE – Ahri sends her orb in the target’s direction, inflicting magic damage to enemies within its path. At max range, the orb homes back to Ahri, dealing the same damage to enemies hit on its way back.
Fox-Fire (W)

ACTIVE – Ahri gains 40% bonus movement speed that decays over 2 seconds and summons three flames, which orbit her for up to 2.5 seconds. After 0.25 seconds, each flame targets a visible enemy, or after 0.4 seconds targets the nearest enemy in range, dealing magic damage.
This damage is doubled against minions below 20% of their maximum health. Subsequent flames on a single target also deal 30% more damage.
Charm (E)

ACTIVE – Ahri blows a kiss in a target’s direction, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit and knocks them down. This also charms enemies and reduces their movement speed by 65% for a duration.
Spirit Rush (R)

ACTIVE – Ahri dashes to a target’s location and fires energy bolts to up to three nearby visible enemies, dealing magic damage. Spirit Ruhs can be recast twice more with a second static cooldown between casts within 15 seconds of the activation.
Consuming a champion’s essence while Spirit Rush is active extends the recast duration by up to 10 seconds and grants an additional recast, storing up to 3 recasts at a time.Â
Ahri Gameplay
During the early game, Ahri does really well at clearing minion waves using her Orb of Deception (Q). After clearing a minion wave, she can push under the enemy turret. You can use this time to roam around the map and try to get some kills.
In the laning phase, you’ll want to spam Ahri’s Charm on enemies and try to get as many kills as possible.

Ahri is a very versatile champion in the late game and could fill multiple roles. You can hang around the bushes and catch enemies off guard using her Charm (E) and follow it up with her abilities to burst down enemies.
You can also group with your team and start a team fight. When grouped, it’s best that you stay at the back where you can spam your abilities to deal damage while being protected by your tank and support.
However, you can also try charming an enemy champion if possible for an easier kill.
Overall, Ahri is an excellent starter champion to pick if you want to learn the mid-lane. She has a fun playstyle, can keep you safe in the lane, and has abilities that are easy to learn.Â
