Oathbound Chests Locations in Fortnite

Interested to learn about Oathbound chests locations in Fortnite?

Fortnite is considered one of the best E-Sports titles in the world, with over 2.95 million active players. The game is currently in its 4th Chapter and hosting the first season.

One of the most crucial things you need to learn in Fortnite is knowing where to get the best loot. However, most players know this already, and some are very good at remembering where to find the best weapons and gear.

To keep things interesting and balanced, Epic makes changes to where loot spawns and how the map is designed.

For Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1, not only did they change the layout of the map, but they also added a new type of chest called Oathbound Chests. These new chests in the game give players some of the best loot available.

However, you can only take full advantage of it if you know where to find them.

Today, we will show you all Oathbound chests locations in Fortnite and everything you need to know about them.

Let’s begin!

What Are Oathbound Chests?

Containers in Fortnite are a special type of item that serves as the primary method to obtain loot. In Chapter 4: Season 1, Epic introduced Oathbound Chests which are a type of container in Fortnite: Battle Royale.

These chests contain Oathbound-exclusive items like the Shockwave Hammer, Chug Splash, and Ex-Caliber Rifle.

Oathbound Chests also have the ability to drop a few Healing Items with weaponry too. They can be interacted with and provide XP once opened.

Finding Oathbound Chests

Oathbound Chests are rare than normal chests in Fortnite, but most of them spawn around key locations. Based on player reports, these chests in the game are usually found in autumnal biomes than lush green and snowy areas.

While there’s no guarantee or proof that this is 100% accurate, it can help narrow down your search a little.

Sadly, Oathbound Chests don’t spawn in the same location each game, which makes it hard to provide an exact map of their locations. These chests are large white/blue crates with an ornate, knightly look to them. Oathbound Chests are also bigger than standard chests that we are used to seeing in the game.

One tip we can give in finding them is to take the capture point on one of the named locations (Domination-like flags). By winning these flags, you’ll mark all chests in the local area, highlighting Oathbound Chests.

Overall, here are some of the best areas to look for Oathbound Chests:

  • Citadel – a medieval castle and home of the Ageless Champion located south of Breakwater and west of Anvil Square.
  • Breakwater Bay – this location was recently added to Asteria and is located north of The Citadel.
  • Faulty Splits – a retail center featuring an abandoned bowling alley. It is located east of Frenzy Fields and southwest of Slappy Shores.
  • Shattered Slabs – this is a marble slab mine located west of Frenzy Fields.
  • Anvil Square – a tiny medieval village near the center of Asteria island.

There are two Oathbound chests waiting for players in Faulty Splits. The first one can be found in the southernmost building. You can land to this POI directly on the roof and break it with your harvesting tool.

There’s also an Oathbound chest in the attic of the next building to the west in Faulty Splits.

Anvil Square

Another Oathbound chest is waiting for players in the northmost building in Anvil Square. The chest should be on the left-hand side of the structure. You’ll have to make your way to the second floor of the building and look for a bookshelf.

Break this bookshelf, and the Oathbound chest should be behind it.

The Citadel

The Citadel

The Citadel is quite abundant with Oathbound Chests. Now, the first one can be discovered by breaking the floor on the steps that lead up to the castle. Once you break the floor, head down and open the Oathbound Chest. Another chest should spawn to the right in the throne room. This one is easy to get since all you need to do is enter the front of the castle.

You should also spot an Oathbound Chest between the double-sided staircase located at the back of the castle.

Finally, the last chest in The Citadel is on the top floor of the castle. You can reach this room by landing on the roof. It should be located behind the large stone statue.
