Looking for the Icerind Hatchet in Elden Ring?
One of the most overpowered weapons in Elden Ring that players can acquire at the beginning of the game is the Icerind Hatchet, a frost-coated blade that can inflict Frost on ground targets.Â
However, the main appeal of this weapon is its skill, the Hoarfrost Stomp. Similar to the Glintstone Pebble, the Hoarfrost Stomp costs little FP yet can be used in quick successions during boss fights.
The Icerind Hatchet also deals devastating damage in Elden Ring over a short period. This weapon in the game also applies the Frostbite Status Effect that deals damage and lowers the target’s damage absorption by 20% and stamina recovery for the duration.
Icerind Hatchet is located within the sunken ruins of the Temple Quarter in Liurnia of the Lakes. Players must travel north from Limgrave and past Stormveil Castle to reach this area.
Today, we will show you how to find the Icerind Hatchet in Elden Ring.
Let’s get started!
Icerind Hatchet’s Location

Starting from the bridge at the South Raya Lucaria Gate, you’ll have two choices to reach the Temple Quarter. First, you can ride south through the town ruins while fighting or running through enemies.
On the other hand, you can also leap off and use Torrent to double jump onto a tall rock near the South Gate.
The second option is much faster, but be careful of the Lesser Runebear residing under the bridge. From there, travel west to the center of the Temple Quarter, where the Icerind Hatchet is waiting.

It will be inside a treasure chest within a collapsed tower.
Although the Icerind Hatchet is undoubtedly a choice weapon in the early and later portions of the game, some players may only want the weapon’s skill.
Fortunately, you can also get the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War within the same region of Liurnia.
From the Raya Lucaria Academy, head to Caria Manor in the far north. The manor should be on top of a large cliff, and you can climb up the plateau at the Northern Liurnia Lake Shore.
From the Main Caria Manor Gate, travel east until you arrive at a small river. Here, an Invisible Teardrop Scarab will be scuttling in a circle.
Slay the scarab to acquire the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War.
