Deathloop is the all-new action-adventure video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. Originally released as a timed console exclusive for the PlayStation 5, it is also currently available for Microsoft Windows.

You will play as the main character, Colt, who is stuck on an island that is encapsulated by a time loop. Controlled by a group of powerful people called Visionaries, the time loop resets every midnight unless Colt finds a way to break it. To do that, you must eliminate all eight Visionaries within the span of a single day.

The island is divided into four districts with the Visionaries scattered around them. Moving from one district to another advances the time of day from Morning, Noon, Afternoon, and Evening.

Another Visionary, Julianna, will constantly try to derail your plans and attack you randomly. This is where the multiplayer aspect of the game comes in. Depending on your settings, friends or random players can join your game and play as Julianna. Fortunately, you can also opt to turn off this feature.

How Long Does the Main Storyline Take

Some media outlets believe the main storyline alone will take at least four hours of real-time. This is assuming that players do not engage in any of the side quests, achievements, explore the island, or do anything else remotely entertaining.

Basically, a speedrun of Deathloop with the perfect circumstances and timing will set you back four hours. However, this is not the approach we would recommend unless you are a professional speedrunner. You will end up missing out on a lot of exciting and interesting experiences.

A big part of playing top-tier games like Deathloop is immersing yourself in that fictional world and experiencing everything you can. This is especially true for Deathloop because it has a ton of achievements, easter eggs, and different endings for each scenario. You will get the full experience by trying out different ways to kill each Visionary.

How Long Deathloop Takes to Beat with Side Quests, Exploration

Players and critics agree that you will enjoy the game much more if you experiment with the gameplay and try different strategies. Side quests such as the Ghost at the Feast, Door Codes, the Deathday Suit, finding strong weapons, and fighting Julianna played by a friend or random player will make the game more exciting for you.

Some players also sometimes just relax by spending a loop or two just looking for enemies to fight. This is a good way to relieve some of the stress and frustration of finding the perfect way to beat the game in a single loop. You can just go to any of the districts and fight everyone you see.

Because Deathloop has multiple endings possible, you can also opt to try and accomplish all of them. If you complete all the achievements and collect all the weapons and items, it may take around 40 to 50 hours of gameplay. With the multiplayer aspect of other players controlling Julianna, completing the game this way may take up to 80 hours.
