After the success of 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption 2 as a prequel. Developed and published by Rockstar Games, it is the third installment in the Red Dead franchise and continues to occur in the Wild West.

Set in 1899, the game follows the adventures of the outlaw Arthur Morgan in a fictional version of the United States. Arthur travels with the infamous Van der Linde gang that is in constant conflict with the government, rival gangs, and other enemies. The previous installment’s main character, John Marston, also appears in the game as a member of that same gang.

The gameplay uses either first or third-person perspective, with the ability to use scopes for several weapons. The open-world environment allows you to explore the turn of the century in the United States. There are countless side quests, non-playable character (NPC) interactions, crime, and other activities like fishing, hunting, and foraging that you can do.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has quickly become a top-tier game in sales, players, and critical reception. Many players and critics now consider it one of the best video games of all time. Media outlets consistently gave it near-perfect to perfect scores across the board. As of 2022, Red Dead Redemption 2 is the 12th best-selling video game, with more than 39 million copies sold worldwide.

Although it is the online multiplayer version, Red Dead Online still has a storyline that you can progress through. You can choose to work alone or with up to six other players as you explore the open-world environment and go on the many missions and activities in the game. Players can go hunting, fishing, do crime, and get in shootouts against the government or bounty hunters. If you want to gain an advantage against other players and NPCs in Red Dead Online, you will need a fast, reliable horse to get you places. A good horse will let you escape the authorities very quickly or even catch other players and criminals with ease.
