How to Get To The Upper Yard in Grounded

Wondering how you can get to the Upper Yard in Grounded?

In Grounded, you start your shrunken journey in the lower years of the backyard setting. However, there’s a whole new world waiting for you to discover once you get to the Upper Yard. This is a dangerous place with extremely tough bugs to combat.

Due to this, players who are planning to venture out into the Upper Yard should be well-equipped.

One of the best parts about playing Grounded is the freedom you have to build and craft various routes and decide which path to take. Building up is often the best way to get around the Backyard, but players will also find shortcuts with some exploration.

If you are planning to explore the Upper Yard but can’t figure out how to reach it, we’ve got you covered.

In this guide, we will show you how to get to the Upper Yard in Grounded.

Let’s jump right in!

Reaching the Upper Yard

To get to the Upper Yard, fans will have to head to the Upper Yard Ascent marked on the northwest corner of the map. From there, you will have to overcome two walls to reach the shed.

The fastest and safest route to get here is to swim across the Koi Pond and climb out its western slope.

This path will allow you to avoid the hostile environment of the Haze that is filled with infected bugs and shrouded in deadly poisonous gases. You can spot the gas from spreading by plugging the canister with gum.

Keep in mind that the Upper Yard Ascent is partially blocked by a rock that needs some explosive to destroy.

Parkour

The easiest way to climb up the Upper Yard Ascent is to head up the large slab of rock opposite the wall by running up the fallen twig. Players can then jump across the gap to reach the small ledge on the wall.

Climb up the roots in the gap, jump up the large rock, and jump again on the large fallen leaves parkour-stye to get to the top.

While players can destroy the large rock with a Splatburst or Bratburst explosive, it isn’t necessary. Don’t forget to mine the Milk Molar at the bottom of the gap before heading up.

Build To The Top

Another way to get up the Upper Yard Ascend without having to use explosives is by building a path heading up. Building using grass stairs and grass floors takes a bit of time and isn’t a necessity, but it does make it a bit easier to get to the top.

There is also plenty of grass and weed stems around the area, which helps speed up the process.

Players should attempt this feat during daylight since there are Wolf Spiders that patrol the surrounding rocky area at night. Players may even find it inconveniently seated on their newly built staircase.

Whichever option you choose, this should get you up to the first level of the Upper Yard, where you can access landmarks like the Grill.
