Want to know how you can get the Mythic Sideways Scythe in Fortnite?
Fortnite has been around for several years now, and just like any game, its developers make it a point to add new content to keep the interest of players. Each season, the game hosts new events and collaborates with various movies and brands.
With the release of v18.21, Epic Games launched the Fortnitemares 2021 event filled with challenges and valuable rewards.
There’s also a new location called “The Convergence” and a new melee weapon to acquire, in the form of Sideways Scythe.
The new Scythe is, of course, connected to the Sideways. These anomalous areas in Fortnite Island are filled with monsters but can also be rewarding for players who know what they are doing.
The Sideways Scythe is created by the Cube Queen’s wrath.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to get the Mythic Sideways Scythe in Fortnite.
Let’s dive right in!
Getting the Sideways Scythe
To obtain the Sideways Scythe in Fortnite, players have to go inside one of the Sideways zones. These areas spawn randomly on the map when the match begins. As the round starts, open your map and look for them right away.

After that, go inside the Sideway zone and be ready to face mobs and other monster NPCs.
However, you don’t need to take down the mobs as you’ll have to get the Sideways Scythe from the Sideways chest.
Aside from the Sideways zones, you can also get the Scythe by killing the new Caretaker NPCs located in The Convergence. For more details, you can visit our detailed guide regarding this matter.
Upgrading the Sideways Scythe
The Sideways Scythe comes in five different tiers. The rarer it is, the higher damage output it can give. It also heals players upon delivering a killing blow, allowing you to face more enemies after every encounter.

To upgrade your Sideways Scythe to Mythic level, you’ll have to eliminate Sideways monsters using the weapon.
Monsters in the Sideways zones drop Cube Parts, which are required for upgrading the Scythe.
Here’s the cost of upgrading Sideways Scythe in Fortnite:
- Uncommon (Green) to Rare (Blue) – 15 Cube Monster Parts
- Rare (Blue) to Epic (Purple) – 20 Cube Monster Parts
- Epic (Purple) to Legendary (Orange) – 25 Cube Monster Parts
- Legendary (Orange) to Mythic (Gold) – 50 Cube Monster Parts
