Are you trying to figure out how to get Sizzle Protection in Grounded?
Sizzle Protection is a resistance stat in Grounded that protects players against Sizzle. This is a harmful status effect that slowly fills a sizzling meter on your interface while producing a sound similar to when you left something burning on a pan.
Once your sizzling gauge reaches the maximum, red heat waves will start appearing at the bottom of your HUD, and you will notice your HP quickly draining away.
Spamming Fiber Bandages to restore your health is not enough to stop Sizzle, and you will eventually meet your end if this status effect is left untreated. Sizzle is usually encountered in the Sandbox, a biome in the bottom-left corner of the map.
The Sandbox features some unique resources and significant landmarks, like Black Anthill Descent and Sandbox Lab Outpost.
The Sandbox is also an amazing area to find Buried Treasures, resource nodes that contain valuable goodies. However, to safely explore this scorching biome, players must have some protection.
In this guide, we will show you how you can get Sizzle Protection in Grounded.
Let’s get started!
Getting Sizzle Protection
There are a few ways to get Sizzle Protection in Grounded. The most simple method is unlocking and crafting the Antlion Armor Set, which is a collection of armor pieces that provide both resistance to Sizzle and Thirst Drain reduction.
You can unlock this set by hunting dangerous Antlions found in the cool tunnels under the Sandbox’s surface.

Another way to get Sizzle Protection in the game is by getting the rare Trinket known as the Insulating Larva Spike. This Trinket has a low chance of dropping from Ladybird Larvae, insects found in the Shed Surroundings and around the BBQ Grill.
If you manage to get the Black Anthill BURG.L Chip, you can use it to unlock the Quesandillantlion, a scrumptious Tier-3 meal that gives Sizzle Protection and Thorns buff.
The final way to treat Sizzling in the game is by obtaining the Fresh Defense Mutation, which increases resistance to gas and burning damage by a set percentage. If players eat one Mint Shard, they should receive the first Phase of Fresh Defense, granting a 25% Sizzle rate reduction.
Those who are able to find and eat ten shards will gain a 75% Sizzle rate reduction. However, players must carefully consider such consumption since Mint Shards are rare.
Mint Shards are also required to make Fresh Storage, the refrigerators of Grounded.
