How to Get Shiny Stones in Dinkum

Want to know how you can get Shiny Stones in Dinkum?

Dinkum is a farming simulator survival game that requires careful planning and strategy to be successful. Players will need materials and Dinks, the island’s currency, to expand their community and build various shops or city buildings.

Some of the basic materials in Dinkum can only be found by using the tools available on the island. These materials include cement, copper, iron ores, tin, and shiny stones.

Dinkum might look basic and cartoonish, but it challenges players in many ways, such as farming, mining, gathering materials, and hunting. The island leaves a lot to be discovered from the very beginning, and one unique aspect of it is its shiny stones.

Shiny stones in Dinkum are mysterious items that are quite useful to players once they get opened.

In this guide, we will show you how you can get Shiny Stones in Dinkum.

Let’s begin!

Obtaining Shiny Stones

Dinkum players will need a few things to obtain Shiny Stones. This includes a Shop Deed, a Mining License, and a pickaxe or hammer. To secure the Shop Deed, talk to Fletch in the Base Tent.

Fletch is the one in charge of all renovations and licenses in Dinkum. Purchasing a Shop Deed becomes available after building up a relationship with John.

However, John will not sell any mining tools without a Mining License.

You can exchange Permit Points or tickets earned through completing tasks around the island for all the licenses. Once you have a Mining License, go to John’s shop and purchase a hammer or pickaxe.

Shiny Stones in Dinkum are found randomly in rocks, so getting them needs a bit of work, luck, and patience. Several Shiny Stones can be found inside Mines as well, but entering the Mine requires a Deep Mining License.

Fortunately, rocks are found all over the island, and the desert area has the biggest amount of rocks.

To obtain these precious stones, you can start by hitting random rocks with your hammer or pickaxe. Once they crack, Shiny Stones may appear. However, there is no way of telling whether a rock drops a Shiny Stone or not.

Opening Shiny Stones

After getting hold of a few Shiny Stones, the description hints that they may have something valuable inside. However, players cannot open them with any of the hand tools available.

Instead, players will need to purchase a Stone Grinder from John, which costs 10,000 Dinks. The quickest way to raise this amount is by selling any tin or copper ores that you’ve found while mining for Shiny Stones.

If you have a furnace, turning the ores into bars will make them sell more.

Once you have the Stone Grinder, place it anywhere on the island. After that, insert the Shiny Stones into the grinder by right-clicking and waiting a few moments. Depending on the situation, Shiny Stones might contain copper, tin, or iron ores. On some occasions, it will also give opals, which sell for a very high profit.
