Are you trying to figure out how you can get Pupa Leather in Grounded?
As you start to reach the later stages of Grounded, you will find yourself going up against some powerful bosses and bugs. The Upper Yard is filled with all kinds of dangerous insects that can easily knock you in a few hits.
The creatures you’ll face in these stages are also tough-as-nails, with some even sporting massive health bars and capable of tanking serious damage.
To even the battlefield with these creatures, you will need to get your hands on some of the best gears and upgrade them. Fortunately, you can easily obtain powerful weapons and capable gears in Grounded if you know where to look.
Pupa Leather is one of the key components for Tier 3 items in the game, including the Tier III hammer and an arrow of strong and beefy armor.
If you want to survive the Upper Yard, you need to gather Pupa Leather as soon as you can.
To help you out, we have decided to make a guide on how to find and get Pupa Leather in Grounded.
Let’s begin!
Finding Pupa Hide
To obtain Pupa Leather in Grounded, you will first need to get your hands on Pupa Hide. Similar to Berries, Pupa can be found hanging from certain structures and can be knocked down with a bow or any projectile.

Pupas are not hostile and act like a node that can be harvested. However, you will need access to the Tier 3 Termite Axe tool if you want to gather Pupa Hides.
Meanwhile, the Scythe of Blossoms or Sour Battle-axe can also be used to farm this resource.
While Pupa can be found in some cliff-based areas in the Upper Grasslands, the perfect place to find them is under the deck of the Large Shed located in the northern part of the Backyard.
In addition, you should also be extra careful when gathering Pupa since there are lots of aggressive and powerful bugs that patrol the areas of the Upper Yard.
Making Pupa Leather in Grounded
After you have collected Pupa Hides, you can now turn them into Pupa Leather. The quickest and most straightforward way to do this is to find a workbench and piece the hides together.
You can unlock the necessary recipe for Pupa Leather by using the Analyzer on a Pupa Hide. While this method is fast, it takes around five Pupa Hides to make just one piece of Pupa Leather in the game.
Fortunately, there is another method, but it will take some time.

If you place one Pupa Hide on a Jerky Rack, it should transform into Pupa Leather over time. This means that you can get five Pupa Leather from using the Jerky Rack instead of one from the workbench.
Due to this, you should go with the second option despite it being slower.
