Where to Find the Plasma Cannon
The Plasma Cannon in Fortnite is found inside of IO loot chests. These chests are located on IO Bases scattered across Fortnite Island. You can easily find these bases by following the bright red lights from their satellite dishes.
The IO loot chests are more extended foot locker versions of ordinary loot chests and could also contain other weapons and items like the Inflate-a-Bull.
For every IO Base, there’s a guaranteed IO chest that can be looted. If you get lucky enough, you may come across multiple IO chests in a single IO Base.
Crafting a Plasma Cannon
If you thought that the Plasma Cannon could only be looted in Fortnite, you’re wrong. As it turns out, the Plasma Cannon is also a craftable weapon. If you’re not lucky enough to loot the cannon, crafting it might be your only hope.
To craft the Plasma Cannon, you’ll need a legendary pistol and an alien nanite. Once you have these two, open the crafting menu and combine them to craft the Plasma Cannon.
However, finding a legendary pistol and alien nanite is no easy task either.
Nonetheless, all the trouble would be worth it once you finally get your hands on the Plasma Cannon.
Alien Nanite Location
Alien Nanites in Fortnite can function as an item and crafting material. You can find them spawning randomly as floor loot or from opening chests. However, there’s a higher chance of uncovering them in extraterrestrial locations like the Mothership and Abductors.
Fortunately, Alien Nanites can be easily spotted as they appear as brightly colored pulsating cubes.
How to Use the Plasma Cannon
The Plasma Cannon is designed to demolish anything in its path, making it a great tool for barreling walls and other structures in Fortnite Island. Players who get caught in the explosion will also receive significant damage.
If you want to use the cannon, you’ll have to be accurate since it’s slow to charge up another shot.
Luckily, you don’t have to be extremely accurate as its beam covers a wide area. Ideally, the Plasma Cannon is great if you want to flush out enemies from their hiding spots or annihilate their structures during late-game battles.
