Since Chapter 2, Season 8 has rolled out, and it has continued to add new items and quests. From donation boards that allow you to participate in the war effort to powerful weapons and items, everyone will surely find something interesting each season.
Speaking of powerful weapons, there is already a wide range of exotic weapons that you can purchase from different NPCs on Fortnite Island.
If that’s not enough, a new exotic weapon has arrived in Fortnite, called the Icy Grappler.

What is an Icy Grappler?
As the name suggests, the Icy Grappler works the same way as a regular Grappler. You can use the tool to move around the island faster. On the other hand, it can also be used to reach higher areas effortlessly.
However, what makes the Icy Grappler unique is that it also gives a Frozen Feet effect that works similarly to the Snowy Flopper and Chiller Grenade from the previous seasons.
Frozen Feet reduce your ability to maneuver around objects and make it harder to turn while increasing your movement speed. The best usage of Frozen Feet is if you need to get out of a tricky situation fast.
This effect lasts for around 30 seconds and can only be canceled by going to a body of water or getting knocked down by an opponent.
Unfortunately, the Icy Grappler isn’t available in competitive playlists.
Getting the New Grappler
If you’re interested in getting the Icy Grappler, you must first visit Fabio Sparklemane in the Apres Ski area on the map. This should be located southwest of Misty Meadows, at the bottom of the map.
You’ll see Fabio on the dance floor of a nearby building.
Upon talking to Fabio, a unicorn NPC will give you a quest with a series of objectives to complete. Aside from that, you’ll also be given the option to purchase the exotic Icy Grappler in exchange for 400 Gold Bars.
If you don’t have enough gold to buy the grappler, we suggest completing some bounties to earn more. The bounty boards should be available in your minimap.
Fortnite Season 8 is a breather following the events of Season 7. The Slipstreams and the overwhelming number of loot alone make it a delight similar to what we experienced during the game’s first chapter.
