Obtaining Pickaxe and Stone Grinder
Before you can purchase a pickaxe in Dinkum, you’ll have to first secure a Mining License from Fletch. However, you’ll need to earn some Permit Points to get a license, which can be done by completing Milestones.
Milestones in Dinkum can be completed by interacting with things around the island. For the Mining License, you will need 250 Permit Points.
After securing a license, players can buy a pickaxe from John. This costs 1200 Dinks.
You can also purchase a stone grinder from John for 10,000 Dinks. However, you’ll need to purchase the Shop Deed from Fletch before you can unlock the option to buy the Stone Grinder.
Once you have the Shop Deed, you’ll convince John, the shop owner, to permanently move to the island. To build the Shop, you’ll have to gather the necessary materials and place them in the construction zone.
Here’s what you need:
- 15 Gum Wood Planks
- 15 Palm Wood Planks
- 16 Nails
- 2 Tin Sheets
For the above materials, you will need a wood saw and tin bars. The wood saw can be bought from John, and the tin bars are made using crude furnace and tin ore.
After collecting everything, the shop will be built. Players can then purchase the required equipment for the required amount of Dinks. You can earn Dinks by selling meat, produce, and items that you collect around the island.Â
Making Cement
Cement in Dinkum can be made by inserting stones into the stone grinder. However, players will need to mine some rocks first around the island to get the stones. Here’s how you can mine rocks:
- First, stand in front of the targeted rock.
- After that, choose the Pickaxe from the item list.
- Now, right-click to swing the pickaxe. Continue using the pickaxe until the rock breaks.
- Once done, left-click to pick up the broken stones.
After collecting the stones, place the stone grinder on the ground and insert the stones one at a time.
