Finding hidden items has been a notable feature in a lot of Arkane games. Deathloop continues this tradition with the codes that open several different doors and safes. Unfortunately, the game generates codes randomly. That means we cannot give you exact answers. You will need to find them yourself.
There are different ways to gather all the codes, which may get confusing. To help you with that, we have compiled a detailed guide on how to get the apartment codes in Deathloop.
Deathloop
Deathloop is the newest first-person shooter video game developed and published by Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks. It was released exclusively for Microsoft Windows and the PlayStation 5 in 2021.
This game follows the story of Colt Vahn, an assassin that is stuck in a time loop within the island of Blackreef. Colt is trying to break the time loop, but he has to eliminate the eight Visionaries first. You will need to use stealth, shooting, and special abilities to accomplish your objective.
All eight targets must be eliminated within a single day as the time loop resets every midnight. To do this, you will have to take out all of them through a specific order. There are four districts on the island and moving from one to another also progresses the time of day from morning to noon, afternoon, and evening.
To complete the game, you will need to discover several important secrets and items. The apartment codes in Deathloop are the only way to find them. The quest will be called The Pact of Smoke.
Apartment Codes
There are three apartment codes in Deathloop. Early in the game, go to the apartment right across Colt’s Luxury Suite in the Updaam area.
You will find three Eternalists playing around. They have set up three keypads with different codes. Each tube turns out to be rigged with lethal doses of inhalant. Only one of them will survive the game and win the prize. You need to get all three codes to unlock the door and find the special prize.
To get the codes, you must rig their game and have one Eternalist survive, find his code, and reset the loop. You need to repeat the process three times and have a different one survive each time.
How to Get the Codes
If you go to the apartment in the morning, you will find an inhaler and machine near the locked door. Three different colored tubes come out of the machine. There is a red, yellow, and blue one. Press the button switch to choose which tube is safe. This is how you choose which of the Eternalists will survive the game.
After finding a code, you just have to reset the time loop to morning and repeat the process.
Yellow
Revisit the apartment. For Yellow, you do not need to hit the switch button. Leave the apartment as it is and return at a later part of the day. When you get back, there will be a note on the table at the apartment. This contains the first of three apartment codes in Deathloop.
Red
After switching to the red one as the safe tube in the morning, travel to Karl’s Bay. Walk through the Gardens of Perception and follow the stairs down to the right. You will see an open room with a ruined ceiling. Enter the room and look for a metal table.
The note will appear on the table. Read it to find the code. After finding the code, reset the time loop and go for the next color tube in the morning.
Blue
Reset the time loop cycle again. For the blue tube, visit the apartment again in the morning. Hit the switch button to put the smoker towards the blue wire. After that, go to Karl’s Bay and advance the time of day.
Go towards the Treasure of Ice area. Behind the barbecue, you will see a small storefront. Go to it and inspect the note you can see near the door. The last of the apartment codes in Deathloop will be on it.
Special Prize Behind the Door
After you collect all three codes, revisit the apartment in the morning. You can now unlock the door. Be careful because the prize is not what you expected.
After you open the door, a crazed man will try to attack you with a machete. Fight him off and kill him. He will drop a few random trinkets as well as a rare one. This is your true prize.
You will find the Bloodthirsty Brawler trinket. It bestows you with the ability to gain health whenever you inflict melee damage on an enemy.
