Want to know about the biggest changes in Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1?
The previous Fortnite chapter was ended by Epic Games earlier than we expected. Fortnite Chapter 4 has arrived, and it replaces the short Chapter 3, only running for four seasons than the usual eight or ten.Â
In general, there are a lot of big changes to the overall experience in the battle royale. For one, Fortnite is now running on Unreal Engine 5.1. If you’re playing on new-gen consoles or PC, then you’ll definitely notice the improvement in visual quality.
You’ll also have a fresh map to explore, new mechanics to learn, and bonus vehicles for racing around on.
If you want to catch up on the latest changes, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.
Let’s get right into it!
Revamped Island

A new chapter means a brand new island for Fortnite fans to explore. This new map provides a great mixture of settings, from snowy peaks and grassy pastures to medieval forests and castles.
Players who have been around since the start of Fortnite will love the return of farmland, which used to make up several POIs in the game.Â
Unreal Engine 5.1

Epic Games made a big change with the game’s engine in Chapter 4. This chapter marks the game’s transition to Unreal Engine 5.1 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. This means that your favorite Battle Royale just got prettier.
Fortnite now features next-gen technology such as Nanite, Virtual Shadow Maps, Temporal Super Resolution, and Lumen.
To sum things up, everything just looks more detailed on the island.Â
Reality Augments

At regular points during the Batte Royale match, players will be prompted to choose between two random Fortnite Reality Augments. This should provide players with random perks such as not consuming fuel while driving or balloons spawning at your back that lets you float.
You can stack up to four Augments in the game, and if you pick them wisely, then it can be a real game changer.Â
Dirt Bikes

Besides the standard vehicles, there’s also another way for players to get around the island more quicker. Epic Games added Dirt Bikes in Fortnite, which is an ideal solution for tackling the hard terrain of Battle Royale Island.
While riding the Dirt Bike, you can aim and fire your selected weapon, so you don’t need to switch to the passenger seat to take on any enemies.Â
New Weapons

Like any fresh season, there are plenty of new weapons for your to master in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. One of the best weapons to return this season is the red-eye assault rifle with first-person aiming. The Ex-Caliber weapon fires a ballistic blade that sticks to targets and explodes to deal double damage.
The Fortnite Shockwave Hammer is also one of the latest additions this season, which delivers huge melee hits while allowing you to bounce over large distances and water.Â
Winterfest 2022

Since Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 started during the holiday season, it came with the Winterfest 2022 event. The Winterfest is a yearly event Epic Games hosts for Fortnite, which rewards players with various skins and cosmetic items.
During Winterfest 2022, the Cozy Lodge makes its return. However, Sgt. Winter isn’t holding the fort this time, and you’ll find winter fairy Snowdancer, the fatigued Sled Ready Guff, and Cozy Knit Jonesy inside the cabin.
In total, players can unwrap 14 presents in the lodge and receive 17 items, including two outfits, two gliders, two Wraps, three Lobby Tracks, three sprays, a pickaxe, a contrail, an emote, and a Back Bling.
The two free outfits for Winterfest 2022 are the Arctic Adeline Outfit and Sled Ready Guff Outfit.Â
Battle Pass
A new season or chapter also means a new Battle Pass for Fortnite. Every season, players scramble to open the game and see what Epic has set out in the pass. Like other Battle Pass, there’s always a selection of skins accompanied by harvesters, back bling, gliders, and some contrail.
Finally, players can also gain V-Bucks in the Battle Pass, which can be used in the shop or saved to buy the next Battle Pass.
This season sees some excellent skin designs, including a gaming legend, Doom Slayer. The pass takes players up to Level 100, but there are still more rewards after playing past that.
Page One

The first skin you can unlock this season is the colorful Selene, kitted out in a pastel pink and turquoise. The first page of the Battle Pass also includes 200 V-Buks, and the Lunar Party dancing emote.
Page Two

Page two of the pass will give you the Lunar Rings contrail, the standing glider, Moonglide, and Selen’s back bling. You’ll also earn another 100 V-Bucks on this page.
Page Three

The Crooked Grind music disc is up for grabs on page three, as well as another 100 V-Bucks. Besides, the Massai skin can also be unlocked at Level 14, along with hits Board Breaker harvester.
Page Four

If you did not think Massai was already an amazing skin, you’d get Air Walker Massai on page four, which gives our favorite skateboarder a mask to wear in battle and some new outfit.
Players can also earn more V-Bucks on this page, as well as the Flip Flyer Glider and the Grind Bag back bling. Maasai’s balancing emote is also a quirky addition that you can use with any skin.
Page Five

The first Gaming Legend Series unlock this season is Doom Slayer. This skin can be unlocked at Level 26. Other drops on this page are the Mark of the Slayer back bling, the Praetor Shroud Wrap, and the Cacodemon glider.
Doom looks great in Fortnite, and it is good to see a gaming legend skin included in the Batlle Pas instead of the shop.
