The Fortnite Shrinking Chair is virtually impossible to find if you have no idea where to look. Unless you look it up or come across it by chance, it’s almost unlikely that you’ll see it during a match.
The reason behind this is that the Shrinking Chair is one of the smallest decorative items in the game. It’s also situated behind a chest and ammo crate, making it even more difficult to spot.
The Chair’s location is actually shown on the map with a landmark named Chair. You may have visited the Chair before as a part of a challenge and not been aware of it. It can be found on a hill north of Retail Row and west of Dirty Docks.
The hill is also near the IO Dish in that area.
Shrinking Chaire Changelogs
While this mysterious and elusive Chair didn’t start shrinking until recently, it has been a part of the map ever since Chapter 2, Season 1. It wasn’t until halfway through Season 6 that it started to shrink.

- 11.00 – Lonely Recliner Chair added to Fortnite
- 16.40 – The Chair starts to shrink and an ammo box appeared
- 16.50 – The Chair continues to shrink
- 17.00 – Chair continues to shrink and is smaller than the ammo box and a chest was added
- 17.10 – Chair gets even smaller
- 17.20 – Chair continues to shrink
- 17.30 – The Lonely Recliner Chair reached its smallest size
- 17.40 – A tiny bear was added sitting in the chair
- 17.50 – Chair is starting to grow
Just when we thought that the shrinking Chair would continue to grow smaller and disappear for good, Fortnite decided to spare the Lonely Recliner Chair from being removed. Now, the Shrinking Chair is starting to grow back to its original size.
Some speculations online believe that the Shrinking Chair will grow as big as a house this time around.
