Kukri Dagger Overview
The Kukri throwing dagger is a type of offensive consumable ammo that can be used in place of a bow or magic attack. This should allow you to deal light damage to enemies from a distance. While it doesn’t do much damage, you can stack up a bunch of it to unleash a salvo to harass your opponents.
You can also use the Kukri dagger to attract the attention of lone enemies and lure them away from their group. It can also cause bleed buildup and even Hemmorhage after several attacks with the Kukri.
The dagger’s in-game description is as follows:
"A large knife used for throwing. Its curved blade is sharp enough to slice flesh cleanly. Throw at enemies to inflict damage and build up onset of blood loss. This heavy throwing weapon is unsuitable for swift attacks but is able to inflict heavy damage."
Where to Find Kukri Daggers
Unfortunately, the Kukri daggers are not categorized as armament in Elden Ring. This means that they cannot be upgraded using an Ash of War or Smithing Stones. Instead, they are consumables that can be thrown at enemies to deal damage.
There are five places where you can get Kukri daggers in Elden Ring. Some of them are static encounters, while a few allow for farming and collecting multiple stacks of the item.
Here are the locations:
- Purchased 60 Runes each from the Nomadic Merchant on the eastern portion of the Weeping Peninsula.
- You can also loot six Kukri throwing daggers off of a corpse behind the Glitstone Dragon Smarag in Liurnia of the Lakes.
- At Stormveil Castle, you can find another dagger on the roof above the Commoner, who gives the Grace mimic.
- If you head northeast of the Chuch of Elleh in Limgrave, you’ll see another Kukri dagger sitting near a fire.
- Five Kukri daggers drop after defeating Vulgar Militiamen located at the Miners’ Caves between Ravine-Veiled Village and Ruin-Strewn Precipice, along the path between the Forbidden Lands and the Grand Lift of Rold.
While spending 60 Runes per piece at the Weeping Peninsula merchant will stack up your stash quickly, farming daggers from the Vulgar Militiamen is your best option.
