Want to know how you can get to Divine Tower of West Altus in Elden Ring?
Elden Ring features a lot of areas with locked doors, glyphs, walls, levers, and other mechanics that make some locations inaccessible. While playing, you’ll find yourself going on long journeys through hidden pathways only to stumble upon a shut gate or door.
If you’ve ended up exploring the area outside of Leyndell, Royal Capital, you may have come across the area known as the Sealed Tunnel.
Those that have made their way through this area will see a small path on the other side of the boss room that will lead to the massive Divine Tower of West Altus. Trying to walk up to the massive iron doors without accomplishing the pre-requisites will cause the door to remain firmly shut.
If you have no idea about what to do, you’ve come to the right place.
Today, we will show you how to get to the Divine Tower of West Altus in Elden Ring.
Let’s get started!
Finding the Tower of West Altus
The first step to getting inside the Divine Tower of West Altus is to find its location. Unfortunately, this area is fairly-well hidden since it is located in the mountainside South of Leyndell, Royal Capital.

To reach the area, players will have to head to the Sealed Tunnel. The easiest way to make it to the cave is to tart from the Outer Wall Phantom Tree Site of Grace inside the southwestern walls of the Royal Capital.
From there, head southeast near the edge of a cliff and jump down a ramp-like terrain that leads to a watery chasm.
Now, players will have to head south towards the tall rock wall, where they will eventually spot the small entrance to the Sealed Tunnel.
The tunnel itself is straight and pretty linear, though it is crucial to mention that there are many illusionary walls that players will need to strike to dive deeper into the area. Once you made it to the area with some tree branches, you are nearing the boss room.

After slaying the Onyx Lord, you can now progress through the other side of the boss room and open the area that connects to the Divine Tower of West Altus.
There will be a Site of Grace here but players who haven’t defeated the boss will be welcomed by a locked door.
Opening the Divine Tower of West Altus
While the path to the Divine Tower of West Altus is quite confusing, the requirement for opening it is relatively easy. First, players will need to progress the Volcano Manor quest until they have defeated the Demi-God, Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy.
To start this questline, players must head to Volcano Manor. After performing enough “hunts” for Tanith, she’ll allow you to seek an audience with Rykard himself.

Slaying this Demi-god will reward you with Rykard’s Great Rune. Once you have the rune, you can return to the Divine Tower of West Altus, open the doors, and head to the top. From there, you can activate Rykard’s Great Rune.
