The Determination Ash of War in Elden Ring gives weapons the Quality affinity and can be applied to any melee weapon. The Quality affinity raises your damage output equal to your Dexterity and Strength attributes.
Due to this, it’s not ideal to use this Ash of War if you’re dumping all your runes into a specific category.
Determination also boosts the power of your next attack, making it a handy option when buffing pre-battle. However, you can also use it during the fight if you can get some space between your opponent.
Finding the Determination Ash of War
Locating the Determination Ash of War in Elden Ring is straightforward. In general, it can be obtained any time after you’ve reached Limgrave. From there, head northeast of Agheel Lake, where you’ll see a bridge crossing over the beginning of a river below.
On the west side of the bridge, you’ll see a silver scarab.
To get the Determination Ash of War, you’ll have to defeat the silver scarab, and it will grant you the item.
Now, slaying the silver scarab should be very easy if you have any melee weapon or a decent spell to use. However, don’t relent once you have started attacking, as the scarab won’t fight back and will start running away.
If you failed to kill the scarab before it disappeared, you’d have to reset the encounter. You can use the Site of Grace northwest of the bridge.
