However, you have to take note that the Crucible Knight and other Evergaol NPCs are optional bosses. This means that you don’t have to deal with them in order to advance the game’s main storyline. 

The Crucible Knight is also arguably the hardest boss you’ll ever face during the early stages of Elden Ring.

He has a ton of poise, hits hard, and packs some wide AoE attacks once he starts his second phase. If you don’t want to have a hard time, we suggest fighting this boss in the later stages of your gameplay.
