Like most games, Valheim is not safe from the world of cheat codes and console commands. Although the game is already immersive and creative enough as it is, having the ability to break the game’s physics introduces even more possibilities to your Valheim experience.

Valheim can be a challenging survival game for those unfamiliar with the genre. You can easily be overwhelmed by the number of creatures roaming the different biomes. It can also be difficult to hunt, gather, or cook food for yourself all the time while ensuring you are warm and dry. All these issues can be negated by using cheats. You can cancel out all debuffs while fully controlling neutral creatures spawning.

If you are ready to explore the world of cheats and console commands in Valheim, we have compiled all the best ones for you. Check out our comprehensive console commands and cheat codes list in Valheim.

How to Enable Cheats

There are a couple of steps to do before you begin using cheats and console commands in Valheim. First, open up the console command box by pressing F5. Next, type in “devcommands” and press enter. After that, you should now be able to enter cheats successfully in singleplayer mode. Remember that cheats and console commands do not work in multiplayer servers, so do not bother.

On the other hand, just re-enter “devcommands” if you want to toggle off cheats in singleplayer mode. This is good for players who would rather go back to playing the game as it was.

Spawning Items and Monsters

There are specific commands you can use to spawn almost any creature or item you want. We will try to cover the codes for each item so you can stock up on your needed resources without having to farm them. Before that, however, here is the primary console command formula for spawning items.

Command: “spawn [item] quantity] [level]”

Example: “spawn Coins 30”

Now that you know how to input a basic spawn command on the console, here are all the codes that you will need. Remember that codes are case sensitive so input them correctly.

Using Your Cheat Codes List in Valheim Efficiently

An image of using the console command box.

Now that you can spawn almost anything you want in Valheim, you should consider the limitations. First, you can only originally carry 300 pounds worth of items in your inventory. Remember not to spawn more than this so you are not encumbered while moving around. Not only are you unable to run when encumbered, you also walk very sluggishly and have your Stamina drained constantly.

Next, there are only a limited number of inventory slots. Unfortunately, you only have 32 inventory slots in Valheim and cannot expand it. The only way to be able to carry more items is by building a Cart. If you are planning to spawn more than 32 different items, make sure you spawn a Cart beforehand. Place all the heavier items there while keeping the light ones in your inventory.

It is important to note that we have not tried out every single console command or the entire cheat codes list included in this article. There may be some risks in bugging or glitching if you use cheats in Valheim. Typically, a quick game reset should fix this. If it does not, try reinstalling the game.
