What are your favorite character’s best Perks in MultiVersus?
One aspect of MultiVersus that separates it from other platform fighting games is the introduction of Perks. This feature adds a whole new world of possibilities to the game. While some characters naturally counter others, using the right Perks can reduce or even negate that advantage, making for a more competitive match.
On the other hand, knowing the best Perks for your character can also help you dominate your less knowledgeable opponents right out the gate. Combine the right Perks with some of the overpowered characters in MultiVersus, and you can have some pretty dominant performances in the game.

MultiVersus

MultiVersus is the newest and most exciting platform fighting game today. It was developed by Player First Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Using Unreal Engine 4 and being free to play, the game aims to compete against some of the biggest titles in the genre, like the Super Smash Bros. series.
A major selling point of MultiVersus is that it features some of the most famous characters in popular culture. It includes characters from the Warner Bros. Discovery catalog, DC Comics, Cartoon Network, Turner Entertainment, Adult Swim, and even HBO. You will recognize some of the biggest names in media history, like Superman, Batman, Arya Stark, LeBron James, Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, and Rick and Morty.
Its gameplay is quite similar to the Super Smash Bros. series. You must deal enough damage or hit your opponent off the stage to win a round. MultiVersus lets you play the standard 1 versus 1 or the more popular 2 versus 2. There are different stages with varying terrain, so some characters will be better in certain settings than others. You can also equip Signature Perks, which are passive abilities that affect your character.
The game was officially announced in November 2021. MultiVersus was released in August 2022 (beta versions in July 2022) with both single player and multiplayer modes. It is available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S.
Perks in MultiVersus

Perks are buffs or power-ups in MultiVersus that you can equip to your character before a match. You can opt to equip them individually, but when two players pick the same Perk, they get an extra bonus buff. There are three types of Perks that you can choose for your character.
There are Perks that focus on Offense, Defense, and Utility. Beginners do not start off with all Perks, so you will have to unlock some of them by leveling up your Fighters. You can also train up a Perk for a specific Fighter to unlock it for them. Signature Perks are Fighter-specific Perks that are not available for anyone else.
If you are confused by the large number of Perks to choose from, we have compiled the best Perks in MultiVersus to give you a shortlist.
Wildcat Brawler

This Perk increases the damage dealt by your melee attacks by 5% while on the ground. Players will be on the ground a majority of the time, so doing extra damage while there is very advantageous.
There is also no real downside to this Perk, so it is the perfect default Perk to use. Until you find the best Perk for your playstyle, you should consider using Wildcat Brawler as a placeholder.
Deadshot

For characters with projectiles, Deadshot is a great Perk to equip early on. This Perk increases projectile damage by 5% when equipped individually. If both players use it, it increases damage by 10% instead.
Although it is not as relevant as Wildcat Brawler for most matches, Deadshot is still a great default or placeholder Perk to use. You can keep using it until you find the right synergy later on.
Make It Rain, Dog!

The perfect Perk to pair with Deadshot, Make It Rain, Dog! lets you shoot your projectiles much faster. When one person equips it, it increases your team’s projectile speed by 20%. The buff increases to 25% when both players equip it.
Combining it with Deadshot makes Make It Rain, Dog! one of the best Perks in MultiVersus. Try it out for Fighters like LeBron James, Tom & Jerry, and Reindog. All three Fighters also unlock it by Level 2, which makes it a great early Perk.
Absorb ‘n’ Go

Once you master playing with Fighters that use projectiles, it is time to learn how to fight against them. Absorb ‘n’ Go is the perfect counter to projectile Fighters. You get a 7% ability cooldown refund every time a projectile knocks you back. The cooldown refund is increased to 15% when both players equip it.
If you are playing against Fighters using projectiles, Absorb ‘n’ Go is an excellent defensive Perk you can use. You will inevitably get hit by projectiles at some point, so you might as well get a very useful payoff out of it. It may even force your opponents to avoid using their projectiles, which are the best weapons for their Fighters.
Stronger Than Ever

Stronger Than Ever is another defensive Perk that is useful for any Fighter. It will give you a strong buff regardless of your playstyle or Fighter’s skillset. This Perk gives your team armor for 5 seconds right after respawning. If both players equip it, the armor lasts 7 seconds instead.
If you are trying to stage a comeback, Stronger Than Ever will definitely help you. Right after losing a point, you can try and make it back by being ultra aggressive for the 5 or 7 seconds that you have armor. If you play it right, you can win back the point immediately.
Last Stand

Another Perk that gives you a great chance of making a comeback, Last Stand is perfect for players not familiar with their opponent’s playstyle. If one person equips it, your entire team deals 10% increased damage once they reach 100 damage. If both players use it, the buff is activated when you reach 90 damage.
When your team goes on a slow start, you can have a really good chance of coming back because of the increased damage. Last Stand is one of the best Utility Perks available in the game.
