Are you looking for the best Incantations to use in Elden Ring?
Elden Ring packs a wide range of magic that players can utilize to aid them in combat and while navigating the world. These spells are broken into two broad categories, Sorceries, which are powered by Intelligence, and Incantations which are focused on Faith.Â
Incantations in Elden Ring can be learned from a handful of NPCs throughout The Lands Between.
Some can even be found in hidden locations across the map.
The Tarnished should do well to prioritize these Incantations wherever and whenever they can be retrieved since their benefits are quite useful.
In this guide, we’ve listed down the best Incantations you can use in Elden Ring.
Let’s get started!
Rejection
One spell that is useful for pushing back large groups of enemies is Rejection. This spell releases a shockwave that pushes enemies back and knocks down weaker enemies while dealing a small amount of damage.

Despite having low damage output, Rejection can be a very versatile spell that can be used for crowd control. This Incantation can be purchased from Brother Corhyn in the Roundtable Hold for 600 Runes.Â
Darkness
An unconventional yet useful Incantation for Faith users is Darkness. This ability doesn’t deal damage but de-aggroes any enemy that enters the cloud it generates, causing them to lose track of your character.

This should leave them vulnerable to backstabs. Darkness is also a great tool to escape, and a means to land critical hits on enemies.
The Darkness Incantation can be learned from either Brother Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor of Vows, after giving them Assassin’s Prayer Book. This prayer book can be obtained in Roundtable Hold, at the back of the second Imp Statue door in the basement.
Barrier of Gold
The Barrier of Gold is a powerful defensive spell that can be highly useful in The Lands Between. This allows players to greatly reduce the damage they take from magic for a short period. This also makes the spell extremely helpful when facing enemies and bosses that use magic.

Acquiring this spell isn’t an easy task. To obtain it, you’ll need to enter Leyndell, Royal Capital, and defeat the specter of Godfrey, First Elden Lord.
Once done, the Barrier of Gold Incantation can be found on an invisible teardrop scarab by taking the stairs and riding the elevator down.Â
Lord’s Heal
Another fantastic defensive spell is Lord’s Heal. This Incantation can be found once you reach Altus Plateau. Lord’s Heal regenerates a huge amount of your health and nearby allies. You’ll find the Lord’s Heal extremely helpful in conjunction with any method of regaining FP without using flasks or Cerulean Tears.

To get this Incantation in Elden Ring, you must first locate the Two Fingers’ Prayerbook in the Fortified Manor in Leyndell, Royal Capital.Â
Erdtree Heal
Another exceptionally powerful healing spell in Elden Ring is Erdtree Heal. However, this can be obtained later in the game than Lord’s Heal. This Incantation is also expensive but restores a massive amount of HP for players and allies when used.

In general, Erdtree Heal works almost the same way as Lord’s Heal, but obtaining it will require you to reach Queen’s Bedchambers in Leyndell, Ashen Capital.
This also means that you’ll have to defeat the Fire Giant.Â
Golden Vow
The Golden Vow is an excellent spell for hybrid faith/melee characters. This spell allows players to boost their attack and defense, along with that of their allies, when cast.
Golden Vow is an easy spell to use right before a boss fight since it supplies your character with extra attack and defense. Reusing this ability during the actual battle can be tricky due to its slow casting time. However, this can be mitigated by boosting your Dexterity stat.

This Incantation can be found at the Corpse-Stench Shack in Mt. Gelmir, which is guarded by Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater.
Keep in mind that you don’t need to defeat this enemy to acquire the Golden Vow. Run into the shack and grab it while Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater is in the process of invading The Lands Between.Â
Honed Bolt
Honed Bolt is an excellent spell for hitting enemies that can be difficult to strike. This Incantation allows the user to create a bolt of lightning from above a target. Honed Bolt also allows you to deal damage to enemies who are behind terrains or any form of cover.

This is an invaluable spell in your arsenal that can surely deal damage to any opponent. It can also be cast repeatedly in quick succession if you are looking for more damage output.
Like the Lightning Spear, this spell can be acquired from Brother Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor of Vows, after giving them the Dragon Cult Prayerbook.Â
Glintstone Breath
Glintstone Breath is one of the few ways for Faith casters to deal magic aspect damage. Due to this, this Incantation can be an excellent addition to any Faith builds that struggle to deal with foes that are resistant to fire and holy damage.

Similar to the Dragonfire and Dragonice, Glintstone Breath can be kept for an extended period by holding the cast button, but it will cost more FP.
You can learn this Incantation at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid for one Dragon Heart.
Flame of Frenzy
Flame of Frenzy is an excellent spell for damaging enemies in a wide area o dealing massive damage to a single target. This Incantation is a must for anyone who’s looking for more damage output for their character.

It is a chargeable spell that launches dozens of bolts of flame from the caster’s eyes, building up Madness status effect on enemies and its user while inflicting damage.
The Flame of Frenzy can be obtained in Callu Baptismal Chruch in the Weeping Peninsula. Take note that this spell is guarded by rats whose eyes burn with the Flame of Frenzy. Charging the spell increases the number of bolts and the range of the spell without extra FP cost.Â
Greyoll’s Roar
Another Incantation that you can learn from Dragon Communion is Greyoll’s Roar. This is an expensive spell to cast but works well when dealing with herds of strong enemies. When used, Greyoll’s Roar unleashes a roar that reduces the attack and defense power of enemies within its range.

Using this spell when trapped by a large herd can render them less dangerous and give you a slight edge in combat.
You can learn this Incantation by spending three Dragon Hearts at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid after killing Greyoll. You’ll find this beast in Caelid surrounded by lesser dragons and drops five Dragon Hears when slain.Â
Beast Claw
Beast Claw can be easily considered one of the best Incantations in Elden Ring. This spell deals massive AoE damage with its wave of rending claws in a cone shape. It can be useful for clearing large crowds of enemies and staggering survivors.
Beast Claw can also be charged up for more power and greater range.

However, obtaining the Beast Claw requires players to complete Gurranq’s questline by giving them five Deathroots, which can be found across The Lands Between.
Since Gurranq becomes hostile and must be beaten into submission after the 4th Deathroot, players must ensure they do not kill him while pacifying him, or they won’t be able to get this powerful Incantation.
