Are you looking for the best early Katanas in Elden Ring?
Elden Ring is an action RPG from FromSoftware, the popular developer responsible for the Souls series. Like their other titles, Elden Ring offers a vast land to explore with dozens of items to collect, places to unlock, and bosses to fight.
To be successful in Elden Ring, you’ll have to make a character that will best fit your playstyle and taste.
Overall, there are over 15 weapon types in Elden Ring, which cater to various playstyles. The best thing about the game is that it doesn’t restrict players to a specific tier or type of weapon. This means that you can equip your priest character with a greatsword if you want to.
One of the most popular weapon types in Elden Ring is Katanas. These weapons specialize in mid-range combat and are capable of dealing with slash and thrust attacks.
There are eight different Katanas available in The Lands Between, and if you want to wield one, you’re going to want to know where you can find them. Luckily, you have come to the right place.
Today, we’ve listed down the best early Katanas you can use in Elden Ring.
Let’s get right into it!
The quickest way to obtain this Katana is to choose the Samurai class while creating your character. The Uchigatana is the starting weapon of this class and doesn’t require any exploration to get it.
On the other hand, other classes can find this weapon inside the Deathtouched Catacombs in Limgrave.
Go to the dungeon and continue exploring until you get to flip the main switch. On your way back, make a left atop the first set of stairs. Along the wall in the back corner will be a new passage that just opened.
Follow the path until you reach a platform above the switch room. Loot the corpse there to get the Uchigatana.
The next early Katana you can obtain in Elden Ring is the Nagakiba, which is wielded by Yura, Hunter of Blood Fingers. To help you, we’ve marked Yura’s location on the map below, so you don’t have to find him yourself.
Once you’re in the area, Yura will attack you instantly. Defeat the Hunter of Blood Fingers to get the Nagakiba.
Gael Tunnel is a dungeon situated on the border of Limgrave and Caelid. To obtain the Moonveil Katana, players will have to explore the whole area and beat the Magma Wyrm in the final chamber.
Once defeated, it will reward you with the Moonveil Katana.
Meteoric Ore Blade
Another Katana in this region can be found at the Caelid Waypoint Ruins, by the southern bend of the highway. There will be a set of stairs leading under the ruins. From there, head down and enter a small room full of coffins.
Beat the enemies inside, open the next door, and you’ll find a chest waiting on the other side, which holds the Meteoric Ore Blade.
