Before entering this encounter, make sure you have enough flasks, health, and max FP, as you’ll certainly need every drop of it.
You can also use consumables like Fire Grease to coat your weapon for bonus damage.Â
Many Armed Key Master Gameplay
The Many Armed Key Master is a difficult encounter for many reasons. First, you’ll be fighting in a small enclosed room with a few obstacles. You can use the key master to clear these obstacles with well-timed dodges.
However, you can’t clear all the obstacles, which means you have to battle the room and the boss all at the same time.
As the name suggests, this boss has many arms, and each wields a weapon. The Many Armed Key Master uses a shield, a spear, and an axe, so you’ll have to be aware of the attack patterns for each weapon.
The Many Armed Key Master is a melee bruiser that uses rapid attacks at both short and long ranges.
Sadly, you can’t block all of its attacks to be prepared to take in a few hits.
This boss also emits a roar that raises your Madness gauge. Luckily, it won’t fill up enough to be a concern, but if the fight takes too long, it could reach max.
When this happens, you’ll take slight damage and lose some FP.
Due to this, using potions and flasks to heal is necessary to manage your madness gauge and HP.Â

There are a few ways to tackle the key master in Elden Ring. You can go for an aggressive strategy using a Greatsword, aiming to rush down the boss’ HP as quickly as possible.
Another way is to take advantage of the boss’ mechanics and rules. Since the Many Armed Key Master can’t leave the room, it will get stuck at the door if you go beyond it. Without having a ranged attack, you could use this time to heal up.
You can also take this chance to attack through the space with ranged attacks and spells. However, this method is just exploiting a bug and could be fixed with future updates.Â
