Looking to beat Mannoroth in World of Warcraft?
Mannoroth is the final boss you’ll encounter on the Destructor’s Rise wing of Hellfire Citadel LFR in World of Warcraft. With Normal mode and higher difficulties, players can access Mannoroth right after defeating all five bosses on the 2nd floor of Hellfire Citadel.Â
This includes Shadow-Lord Iskar, Socrethar the Eternal, Tyrant Velhari, Fel Lord Zakuun, and Xhul’horac.
A portal should open in the Felborne Breach, which will grant you access to Destructor’s Rise, where Gul’dan and other Fel Iron Summoners are working to resurrect the fallen Mannoroth.
If you are here, you’re probably looking for a strategy to use to beat Mannoroth.
Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place.
In this guide, we will tell you everything you need to know to beat Mannoroth in World of Warcraft during the encounter in Hellfire Citadel.
Let’s get right into it!
Mannoroth Encounter Mechanics
The Mannoroth encounter is a long multi-phase fight with moderate movement requirements, high raid awareness, and routine target switching.Â

Initially, WoW players must defeat Fel Iron Summoners and the demons they summon. Once the summoners are dead, Gul’dan will destroy a Fel Spire and use its power to revive the defeated Mannoroth.
When Mannoroth’s health reaches 65%, Gul’dan will destroy another Fel Spire and use it to restore Mannoroth to his full capabilities. Lowering Mannoroth’s health down to 35% will trigger Gul’dan to destroy the last Fel Spire and use it to grant Mannoroth great power.
The Fel Spires are associated with a type of demon. At the start of the fight, Fel Summoners will call a demon type related to the Fel Spire in front of them. When Gul’dan destroys a Fel Spire, it also prevents demons of the same kind from being summoned.
This means that you’ll have to deal with various kinds of ADS at the start of the encounter, and as Mannoroth gains strength, you’ll have to deal with fewer mobs.Â
Player Roles
Tanks
- Perform tank switches while using an activate mitigation cooldown after Massive Blast. You should do this quickly.
- Use mitigation cooldown to avoid getting Puncture Wound effect from Glaive Thrust.
- During Phase Four, dodge the knockback waves that come for you right after Massive Blast is used.
Healers
Healing cooldowns are required in Phase One and for Phase Four’s Empowered Felseeker. In Phase Three and Four, you can use them freely, as no other abilities need them.
DPS
DPS should target the following priority:
- Fel Iron Summoners
- Doom Lords
- Fel Imps
- Dread Infernals (for ranged DPS)
- Mannoroth
Everyone
Phase One:
- Spread out at least 3 yards to avoid Fel Blast damage.
- Prioritize interrupting Fel Blast.
- Stop Shadow Bolt from being summoned as much as possible.
- Don’t stand in Fel Streak ground effects.
- Stay 30 yards away from tanks that are tanking Doom Lords.
Phase Two – Four:
- Don’t stand in Fel Imp-Iosion ground effects (2nd Phase).
- Avoid standing in Inferno ground effects (2nd and 3rd Phase).
- Split Mannoroth’s Gaze damage by having several raid members stand in the circle around the debuffed player. During Phase Four, have as few players as possible soaking the damage to minimize the size of void zones.Â
- Runaway from Felseeker (Empored Felseeker in 4th Phase).
- Go against the pushback if targeted by Shadowforce (3rd and 4th Phase).Â
- Dodge the meteors coming from Fel Hellstorm.Â
Bloodlust / Heroism / Time Warp Usage
Bloodlust, Heroism, and Time Warp should be used in the final phase once Mannoroth has completed the first Empowered Shadowforce. This should prevent you from losing DPS uptime to the forced movement.Â
Legendary Ring Effects Usage
You should use the DPS legendary ring effect at the start of the encounter to take out the first Doom Lord fast, and it should cool down for later stages. During this raid, Fel Imps and Dread Infernals are the priority targets, so you should hold back using the ring effect until a new wave of mobs spawns.

The legendary healer effect should be used for healing damages from Fel Hellstorm or when the rai dips low from Mannoroth’s Gaze or Empowered Shadowforce.
Finally, the tank legendary ring should be utilized to mitigate the damage during Glaive Combo abilities. This will help your tanks survive the powerful attacks.
