Can’t beat Kazzak in World of Warcraft?
Lord Kazzak is a world raid encounter in World of Warcraft, which means it’s designed to be fought by several raid-sized groups of high-level players. However, this doesn’t mean that low-level characters can’t be brought along.Â
Kazzak spawns within the back of the Tainted Scar in the Blasted Lands, a valley guarded by demonic forces from the Third War. The addition of these types of encounters brought new game dynamics that can be either good or bad.Â
Although Blizzard expects good competition for these mobs, some high-level players abuse Kazzak’s abilities to harass other players.

Today, we’ve decided to make a guide on how to beat Kazzak in World of Warcraft.
Let’s get right into it!
Kazzak’s Abilities

Being a world boss, Kazzak has a few tricks up his sleeves. However, his melee attacks are quite weak, with no more than 1500 hits to cloth players.
Shadowbolt Volley
Kazzak shoots an insanely long-range volley of shadow bolts that damages anything in its path. It can inflict between 800 to 1000 DMG to players and ignores any line of sight issues. To make things simpler, it cannot be dodged.
Twisted Reflection
Lord Kazzak casts a magical debuff to a random player without aggro and heals himself for 25,000 HP every time he damages the player with Twisted Reflection. Combine this with Shadowblolt Valley, and you’re in for one hell of a fight.
Mark of Kazzak
Drains 250 mana from target every second and bursts for 4,000 AoE damage once the affected player runs out of mana to drain.
Cleave
Kazzak deals 1000 to 2000 damage to each player around him using a cleaving strike. Since there’s no blind spot that can be found, Cleave could be capped to a specific number of players every strike.
Thunderclap
An AoE that deals slight damage and slows down your movement speed. Some players can take up to 200 damage while other characters and builds don’t receive any damage. The attack speed of players inside the Thunderclap is not affected either.
Void Bolt
A strong electric bolt that Kazzak casts on players with aggro. It deals at least 3000 shadow damage.
Capture Soul
When a totem, pet, or player dies, Lord Kazzak uses Capture Soul to regenerate 70,000 HP instantly.Â
How to Beat Kazzak in World of Warcraft
Once you aggro Kazzak and the battle starts, you’ll have less than three minutes to kill him. Kazzak starts strong right off the bat and will focus on meleeing your main tank and uses Cleave once in a while to control the rogues that swarm around him.

Kazzak also casts Shadowbolt Volleys whenever possible to inflict damage to everyone. This doesn’t have a timer or queue, and he randomly spawns it when needed.
In the worst cases, Kazzak casts Shadowbolt Volleys every five seconds.
You also have to remember that Lord Kazzak will utilize his other abilities on random players, such as Twisted Reflection and Mark of Kazzak.
Best Strategy to Beat Kazzak
If you want to be successful in beating Kazzak, you can follow the strategy we’ve prepared below:
- Send your main tank and allow him to build some aggro until it’s enough that Kazzak won’t come at you first when you cast an ability.
- Have your DPS classes unleash everything on Kazzak while your Priests keep an eye on the debuff Lord Kazzak casts on the entire raid and remove them as soon as possible.
- Priests should actively heal the entire raid, or Shadowbolt Volley’s damage will overwhelm the group, and your attempt will fail.
- Mages need to dispel Mark of Kazzak right away, or it will go off and wipe your raid.
- All caster roles should also leave at least 1000 mana in their pool just in case Kazzak uses his curse on you.
- Never use grounding totems, pets, or other small troops that Kazzak can kill. He can quickly gain 70,000 HP once he kills them.
When you try to kill Kazzak, your entire raid only has precisely three minutes to finish him off. If you fail to execute Lord Kazzak in that timeframe, he’ll enter Supreme Mode. Once he enters this form, he will summon Shadowbolt Volley every second.
That means everyone will receive 800 to 1000 damage every second and will basically wipe the entire raid.Â
