Looking for a way to beat Elegon in World of Warcraft?
Mogu’shan Vaults is one of the raids that opened with the release of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. This encounter consists of six bosses inviting adventurers to explore the hidden treasures of the elusive Mogu Empire.
The entrance to this dungeon can be found in northeast Kun-Lai Summit, accessed on Mogu’shan terrace, overlooking the province of Zouchin far below.Â
Lorewalker Cho will accompany your raid through the vaults, providing information and lore on the mobs and bosses. Once you defeat the group of stone Quilen, you’ll face the Stone Guards next, which awakens the spirit of Feng Accursed.Â
Feng animates several stone statues of Mogu before joining the fight. After executing Feng, a Zalandari strike force will break into the vault led by Gara’jal the Spiritbinder.Â
Other bosses you’ll face in this instance are The Spirit Kings and Elegon.Â
For this guide, we will show you the best strategy to beat Elegon in World of Warcraft.
Let’s get started!
Elegon Fight Strategy
Elegon is a four-phase encounter, with the first three phases repeated twice before moving to the final phase. The boss chamber is groped in two sections, with the outer ring built with stones and the interior disc being translucent and celestial in theme.Â

Players on the interior disc receive the Touch of the Titans debuff, which increases the DMG done and healing received by 50%.Â
Raid members in the interior disc also receive a stack of Overcharged every 5 seconds they remain inside, increasing the DMG they take by 5% per stack. Overcharged will continue stacking while you stay in the interior disc and don’t have a limit.Â
Phase One:
The initial phase of this encounter occurs once the fight starts and lasts until Elegon reaches 85% HP. During this stage, the range DPS of your raid should stack near the edge of the disc, while one tank and melee DPS are positioned at the center.
The rest of the group should occasionally leave the interior disc to clear their Overcharged stack but should otherwise remain on the disc for increased DMG and healing.Â
Occasionally Celestial Protectors will spawn during this phase.Â

The secondary tanks should pick these protectors up right away and lure them near the edge of the disc beside the range DPS. For melee DPS, peel off to DPS the Celestial Protectors, as it places them near the edge of the disc for stack clearing.Â
It would also help to keep 1-2 DPS focused on the boss to ensure the phase progresses faster. When the Celestial Protectors’ HP reaches 20%, the tank should move them off the disc to prevent them from casting Total Annihilation while buffed by Touch of the Titans.Â
Phase Two:
In the second phase, Elegon will cast Draw Power and summon six ADS equally distributed around him. These ADS will move outward from him to the direction of the six pillars on the inside edge of the outside ring.
When these ADS reach a pillar, Elegon will move to phase three.
Each wave of ADS that Elegon summons increases his DMG taken by 10% for the rest of the fight, but each wave of these mobs also moves 20% faster.
You should assign DPS to each pillar and kill any ADS that gets near them. Otherwise, these DPS roles should help kill nearby ADS or continue damaging Elegon. If your DPS hits the correct timings, you can damage Elegon by 10-15% during this stage.Â
Remember that Overcharged continues to stack during this phase, and every ADS killed AoEs the raid for a decent amount of DMG.
Phase Three:
Phase three starts when any ADS reaches the exterior pillars of the room. When this occurs, the six pillars will raise and spawn energy walls between the outer pillars and walls. This splits the external ring into six segments.Â
If you move through the wall, you’ll get killed immediately. After a few seconds, when this phase starts, the interior disc will be removed, and players inside it will fall to their deaths.Â

Don’t forget to evacuate the inner ring before this occurs to avoid dying permanently.Â
Your raid should be divided into two groups for this phase, with a healer, tank, and three DPS on each side. Each of your DPS should position near the pillar they are assigned to. We suggest positioning your DPS in one of the two segments between the upper or lower and center pillar.
The raid’s DPS should be responsible for killing the pillar closest to them, then help kill the other pillars afterward. Pillars won’t be completely destroyed unless you break the other pillar across them.Â
Phase Four:
In this phase, the outer ring will be filled with Energy Conduit, dealing lethal DMG to anyone inside it. All players should move to the center of the interior disc, where they should remain for the rest of this instance.Â
This phase works like the first phase, but Elegon no longer summons Celestial Protectors. In the final stage, players can’t reset their Overcharged stacks, and Elegon will do regular AoE DMG to the raid.Â
If you’ve completed the first three phases properly, Elegon’s HP should be around 34 to 40% and has at least 10 to 12 stacks of Draw Power.

The raid should cluster up behind Elegon for AoE healing, use cooldowns such as Heroism, Bloodlust, Time Warp, Ancient Hysteria, and nuke him as hard as you can. The final phase is basically a soft-enrage dependent on killing Elegon before the damage exceeds the healing output of your healers.Â
