How to Beat Demi-Human Chiefs in Elden Ring

Want to know how you can beat the Demi-Human Chiefs in Elden Ring?

Limgrave in Elden Ring is packed with dungeons to explore, each with its own bosses to fight. One of the most hectic boss encounters that you’ll experience in the game are the Demi-Human Chiefs, which are found in the Coastal Cave

Besides the two demi-human, you’ll also get ambushed by dozens of grunts while fighting them.

The Demi-Human Chiefs in Elden Ring are grouped together with a handful of other demi-humans.

If not careful, you can easily get pinned by multiple enemies and die in seconds.

However, with the help of some key items that you can bring in the battle, facing the two Demi-Human Chiefs isn’t that hard anymore.

Today, we will show you how to beat the Demi-Human Chiefs in Elden Ring.

Let’s begin!

Preparation

As we’ve mentioned, the Demi-Human Chiefs in Elden Ring are surrounded by a variety of minions that skulk the area.

For this boss fight, you’ll have to go with a quick one-handed weapon to perform rapid strikes whenever possible. On the other hand, you can also go for a larger weapon that can deal heavy damage in a wide area.

With a larger weapon, you can take out a few minions as well while getting off a few hits on the Demi-Human Chiefs.

Finally, we also suggest that you summon help for this boss fight. Having to deal with the minions and the two demi-human is a nightmare. With some help, you can ease off the pressure from the grunts so you can focus on the Demi-Human Chiefs.

Demi-Human Chiefs Attacks

As with most boss fights in Elden Ring, the key to slaying them is knowing their attack patterns and getting off your attacks at the right time. Luckily, the two demi-human chiefs use the same attack patterns.

Jump Stab

The most common attack used by the Demi-Human Chiefs is the jump stab. This consists of them leaping into the air and striking twice downwards with both of their weapons. The attack is quite easy to dodge since it has short range. You can simply run out of the way once they jump into the air.

Overhead Slam

This attack is almost the same as a jump stab, with the main differences being that the chiefs only use one of their weapons to slam the ground and has a wider range. For this attack, you need to be more careful and may require you to dodge or roll.

Other Attacks

  • Quick Slash
  • Spinning Attack

Strategy

For this encounter, it’s a good idea to focus on one demi-human at a time. While you have to face two bosses for this fight, the Demi-Human Chiefs’ health is fairly small, making it easier for you to take them down one by one.

However, you’ll notice that there are other lesser demi-humans in the cave, which you’ll need to fight as well.

If you can, we advise slaying the smaller minions and demi-humans first before dealing with the Demi-Human Chiefs.

For magic users, an AoE spell should work well to take a few of the demi-humans out at the start of the fight. When it comes to melee users, try to begin the fight by hitting at least two of the smaller minions with a swipe attack.

One thing to note about the Demi-Human Chiefs is that they are quick on their feet. However, their attacks are easy to avoid if you keep moving for the entire fight.

Try to create space between you and the bosses before taking out the other enemies, and don’t get too aggressive with your chain attacks. It’s better to finish the fight slow than to repeat the entire encounter multiple times.

Ideally, it’s best to perform 1 to 2 attacks each time you stop.

On some occasions, you’ll be lucky if one of the Demi-Human Chiefs is at the back of the cave. In this scenario, you can comfortably kill one boss at a time. However, this doesn’t happen all the time.
